Growing health costs, ageing population, changing patient expectations, the efficient use of resources, the necessity to take decisions based on knowledge etc. have required benefiting from ICT when rendering health services to citizens at a more efficient and qualitative way.
The basic purpose of e-health services, which mean the electronic servicing of health services, is defined as the prevention of diseases instead of treatment, focussing on the patient instead of the institution, the intercorporate information sharing and cooperation. The development of the technology has enabled the expansion of telemedicine and tele-health services, so that individuals can now access health services from afar.
The e-Health/Tele-Health Conference will discuss a wide range of issues starting from the concept of patient-focussed health to electronic patient records, from tele-access to care at home, from patient management to mobile heal and on existing situations, projects, examples, legal regulations and aims.
