The increase in the mobile subscription brings diverted and extended needs. Especially where there is a need for increased quality and usage, the demand for high speed broadband becomes more significant. The service providers are focusing on implementing new technologies for meeting this need. WCDMA (Wideband Code-Division Multiple Access) has gained strong traction amongst operators globally. In year 2007, 3G technologies reached a speed of 14.4 Mbps with HSPA (High Speed Packet Access) technology leaving behind the initial speed of 384 kbps that was available by year 2000. The speed will evolve into 200 Mbps by the upcoming technology called LTE (Long Term Evolution).
