| IMS: New era after 3G |
IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and Next Generation Network (NGN)
migration issues with an overall architecture overview.
The network convergence benefits that the telecommunication industry has
been publicizing for almost a decade are finally taking shape. The IMS
architecture is an important part of the answer. IMS provides a blueprint that
enables operators to achieve the convergence goal resulting in easier and
faster service delivery. Consequently, operators should gain added revenue
streams and subscribers should have richer service experience.
This high level presentation defines IMS and its benefits to both operators and
subscribers. It briefly discusses the challenges operators will face in migrating
their existing legacy TDM networks and narrowband voice services to an IMScompliant
NGN-based (IMS-NGN) architecture. Also explains how Veraz
enables the creation of a hybrid environment where narrowband voice service
customers coexist with IMS enabled customers.
